Goodgame Studios is a social online game developer from Hamburg, Germany. The company was founded in June 2009 by the brothers Dr. Christian Wawrzinek (COO) and Dr. Kai Wawrzinek (CEO). With their debut Goodgame Poker, which innovatively combines the classical card game with social game elements, they successfully entered the highly competitive browser game market immediately. Since then, the company has been growing continuously. Additionally, the game producer spotsonfire GmbH with its entire staff was absorbed in June 2010. Today, Goodgame Studios has about 140 employees.
The portfolio contains nine family-friendly and uncomplicated flash games; more titles are in the works. The online games have already been translated into more than 20 different languages and are delighting people between twelve and 65 years in 200 countries. They can access the games on more than 10,000 websites by our media partners, numerous social networks or directly through Goodgame Studios’ game portal. All in all, 41 million users have already registered, every month the internet presence records 70 million visitors.
The reasons for the sweeping success of Goodgame Studios’ games are manifold: Communicative multi-player interactions enable exchange with people from all over the world. High quality requirements guarantee varied game themes, appealing graphics and intuitive usability. The games do not require installation of additional software, but can be played directly in the internet browser. But above all, they are free, without any ads and continuously being updated and expanded. Different awards like “Browsergame of the Year 2009” and “Golden Sparrow 2010” are a reward for the high design effort.
In addition, in September 2011 Goodgame Studios founders Christian and Kai Wawrzinek were awarded the renowned prize “Entrepreneur of the Year” in the startup category (nomination trailer on the right).
