6 years old but all grown up – happy birthday Goodgame Studios!

It’s hard to believe how time flies. Another year has already passed since Goodgame Studios was founded, and now we’re celebrating our sixth anniversary! A lot has happened in such a short period of time, and we are very proud of what we have accomplished  and a big thank you to our active player community, since our loyal fans are the ones who made our success possible in the first place. Goodgamers celebrate their “Childhood Heroes”

On March 13, hundreds of Goodgamers came together to remember and relive their “childhood heroes”. Many of them stuck closely to the theme and donned creative costumes made with an astonishing attention to detail. Whether Super Mario, the Ghostbusters, the Flintstones, or Harry Potter – everyone was in attendance! The party was held at Fabrik in Hamburg-Altona. VIP News: Santa Claus and the Grinch sighted at the Goodgame Christmas party!

This year we celebrated our company’s much awaited Christmas party on December 5th. Our team worked their magic to transform the Edelfettwerk venue into a winter wonderland just for this special event. Employees were first welcomed into the outdoor square for their very own Christmas market stocked with sumptuous snacks, mulled wine, hot cocktails etc. The party then proceeded indoors where the venue was glittering with festive decorations and small market stands were set-up to serve a delectable dinner buffet. Adding on to that, to satisfy our sweet cravings there were exclusive crepe and baked apple stands. Just like at every proper German Christmas market, packs of roasted almonds helped to satisfy the needs of even the most discerning sweet tooth.

Neon lights for Goodgame Studios

The coolest event in the art department calendar took place on November 28, with artists from all fields, such as Concept Art, 3D Art, and Marketing Art brought together for one colorful night. The colorful shindig began at 7 PM at the Hamburg Eiskeller, which the event team rigged with UV lights to jazz up the occasion. During the drinks reception, all participants donned neon attires and accessorized them with uber cool bright hats, glowsticks, feather boas for a glamorous touch. For our Lead Vector Artist, Laurent, it was a great opportunity to bring the entire art team together.

5 years GGS

5 years young – and already (almost) grown-up

On 22nd August we celebrated our unique success story on the banks of the Elbe with over 1,500 guests.

Our games enjoy great popularity worldwide, which after such a short time is anything but taken for granted. Such an excellent achievement would not be possible without our team, which is why we wanted to thank everyone with this anniversary celebration. Not even the Hamburg summer was able to dampen our moods.

Goodgame Studios celebrate in technicolor

In early April it was once again time for a party with 500 friends, also known as a Goodgame Studios company party. On a Friday evening, we gathered in the club Hühnerposten in Hamburg, intent on doing justice to the theme of GGSCASTCAHP (Goodgame Studios Celebrates A Super Trashy Colorful And Happy Party). Admittedly Mardi Gras had come and gone, but we nonetheless decided that bad taste was the way to go. The outfits on the night were true to the theme – even the buffet was in on the action with garish and outlandish dishes, while the decorations were so extravagantly colorful that they would not have been out of place at a child’s birthday party. All in all the scene was set for a fantastic party, and sure enough, the dance floor was packed by 9.30 and stayed that way well into the early hours. Even hits from Rednex and Whigfield failed to tone down the atmosphere – quite the opposite, in fact. A further highlight of the evening was the photo booth. It offered the opportunity for great snapshots of two or three people at a time. However, a quick glance through the photos shows us that up to six Goodgamers could (almost) comfortably squeeze in.
