The Application Process
Where can I find current job openings at Goodgame Studios?

What is the best way to apply? Who should I contact?
Please send your complete application to our HR department manager, Hendrik Mainka by e-mail only. Unfortunately, we cannot accept hard copy applications submitted via the postal service at this time.
What documents are required?
We need the following documents in PDF format: curriculum vitae, references, all education, higher education and training certificates as well as your desired salary and desired position. Please tell us where you first saw the job offer. For all graphic design applications, we also need a portfolio of your previous works that is tailored to the position you are applying for so that we can assess your creative abilities.
Does Goodgame Studios also offer internships?
Yes, we offer internships with a minimum duration of 3-6 months. The internship can be a praxis semester as part of your course of studies, for example, or it can take place right after your high school graduation. Please contact the HR department about this. The internship is paid. Unfortunately, we cannot offer high school internships due to the brevity and lack of time, because there wouldn’t be enough time for sufficient training at our company.
Does Goodgame Studios offer apprenticeships?
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer apprenticeships at this time. However, individual arrangements are possible, such as work-study options according to the Hamburg Model. Please directly contact Hendrik Mainka about this.
What offers are there for students?
We do not only provide students with internship opportunities, but will gladly supervise their bachelor theses. Please contact Hendrik Mainka the for more information. We also offer interesting positions for young professionals and graduates.
Is it possible to work part time, as a freelancer or externally?
Normally, we only offer full time positions in Hamburg. Moreover, there are only a few areas in which we work with external consultants or freelancers. You can find more detailed information about this in the job descriptions. Individual arrangements are limited.
Where does Goodgame Studios have its offices? Do I have to work on site?
Goodgame Studios has its headquarters in Hamburg-Bahrenfeld. A local presence is essential. In a few areas, we also work with external consultants and freelancers. Please consult the job openings to see if there are any fitting positions.
Can I send an unsolicited application?
We are always looking for talented and dedicated professionals and look forward to every application. When sending an unsolicited application, please make sure to include all documents and state your desired position. Please e-mail all documents to our HR department manager, Hendrik Mainka.
What is the application process like?
Goodgame Studios is trying hard to process applications as quickly as possible and avoid long waiting times. You will usually get a response within 1-2 weeks. Depending on the position, we will arrange for a personal or phone interview with you.
Are there assessment tests?
In some areas tests are common before the actual interview, so that we can gain a better understanding of your practical skills. All tests or excerpts from your work that you send will be handled with absolute discretion like all other application documents and will not be used for our company.
How can I prepare for an interview?
Please familiarize yourself with our games and our website. Carefully read through the job openings and prepare for specific questions relating to your area of work. We might give you a little assignment during the interview.
What can I expect from a phone interview?
The phone interview lasts about 15 to 30 minutes and is conducted by an HR member or someone working in your area of expertise, depending on availability. You should expect questions about your area of expertise, your skills and software knowledge in addition to questions about your curriculum vitae.
What can I expect from an interview?
The interview lasts about 30 to 60 minutes. An HR member, a department manager and a person from the management will be present for your interview. Here, you can also expect questions about you curriculum vitae, your area of expertise, your skills and software knowledge. We might also give you a small, practical problem to solve during the interview.

What is working at Goodgame Studios like?
We are located in the Westend Village in Hamburg-Bahrenfeld. You can expect flat hierarchies and open office spaces, where people work in teams. The direct exchange between employees is very important to us. In addition, we offer flexible working hours with a core working time from 10-5.
How many employees does the company currently have?
Currently, about 140 people work at our Hamburg offices. And the number keeps growing!

What languages do I need to speak?
We currently speak German at Goodgame Studios. Since we are working with an international team, however, a command of the English language is definitely necessary. Additional language skills might be required depending on the position.
Is there a dress code?
At Goodgame Studio everyone gets to wear whatever he wants. However, blouses and button-up shirts are encouraged for business appointments.
Formal salutations?
We are all on a first name basis at Goodgame Studios, which includes applicants. However, when communicating with customers, a more formal salutation is appropriate.
